Gary Thomson, CPA

When it comes to public accounting, Gary has seen and done it all. Over the span of a 38-year career, he has:

  • Launched, operated, and grown a private CPA practice

  • Led firm growth, mergers and acquisitions and strategy for small, medium and large CPA firms

  • Served on the Senior Leadership Team for a Top 20 firm

  • Serves as a Practice Management Consultant and Leadership Coach to firms/Managing Partners of a diverse range of CPA firms

  • Served as a legislative key person and council member for the industry’s national governing body, the American Institute of CPAs

  • Served as chairman of the Virginia Society of CPAs and a public policy leader for Virginia on issues impacting CPAs

Matt Rampe

Matt Rampe, ASA, PCC

Matt Rampe is an accomplished consultant, coach and speaker to CPA firm owners in North America. Rampe specializes in strategic planning and has worked with CPA firms in a wide range of sizes and levels of complexities. In 2024 he interviewed and polled firms on various aspects of strategic planning to reveal best practices across the accounting industry. He is currently authoring a book on strategic planning for CPA firms.

Rampe began his career in finance supporting the executive team at a Fortune 500 company. He then transitioned to the business valuation of venture-capital backed startups at top-50 ranked Frank Rimerman. Later Rampe served as an expert witness on business valuation matters related to divorce and corporate disputes before joining Rampe Consulting.

He was a 40 Under Forty – Honoree by the National Association of Certified Valuators and Analysts (NACVA) & Consultants’ Training Institute (CTI) and is a regular author and speaker on practice management topics.

Matt is a graduate of San Jose State.

Kristen Rampe

Kristen Rampe, CPA

Kristen Rampe is a nationally known consultant to CPA firms and frequent speaker at practice management conferences. She specializes in helping firms with partner compensation, partner agreements, buyouts, strategic planning and leadership development. In 2016, Kristen Rampe began working with Marc Rosenberg on practice management projects and in 2022 they joined their consulting practices together as Rosenberg Associates.

Kristen spent ten years in public practice with Big 4 powerhouse PwC and top-50 ranked Frank Rimerman in San Francisco before founding her consulting practice in 2011.

She was named Woman to Watch by the California Society of CPAs in 2011, 40 Under 40 by CPA Practice Advisor in 2015, and Top 100 Most Influential People in Accounting by AccountingToday in 2022, 2023, and 2024.

Kristen holds an active CPA license with the state of California. She has been featured by Fortune and Investor’s Business Daily. She is also the co-author of The Role of the Managing Partner along with Marc Rosenberg. Kristen is a graduate of Butler University.
